Ruling is a legacy of Ducey's court stacking that will hurt Arizonans

STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – Senate Democratic Leader David Bradley released the following statement on today's Arizona Supreme Court ruling in the Brush & Nib v. City of Phoenix case:

"Today's ruling by the Arizona Supreme Court is first and foremost a direct attack on Arizona's LGTBQ+ community. The majority justices' claim that this will only apply to wedding invitations is ludicrous. The truth is this ruling will hurt many Arizonans, opening the door to even more attempts to exclude and isolate Arizona's LGTBQ+ community. The Governor has accomplished his goal of stacking the Arizona Supreme Court and the fears of many reasonable Arizonans have come to fruition. The Court in no way reflects the diversity of our state just as the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments does not. If it was the governor's goal to establish an out-of-touch judiciary for years to come, he has succeeded marvelously."

"We believe every Arizonan has the right to live without discrimination where they work, live and shop regardless of who they love. That is why we will continue our legacy of defending the rights of all Arizonans and will bring forth bills next session, as we have done for years, that strengthen and expand those rights."
