Phoenix Budget Hearing Wrap-Up & Yuma Reminder

On Thursday, Jan. 29, Legislative Democrats hosted a budget hearing in Phoenix for the public to express their opinions about the impending Republican budget proposal. Three hundred members of the community convened for a three-hour forum. Foremost on their minds was protecting funding for education and health services. Here are a few photos.

Tonight, Legislative Democrats will host another budget hearing from 7 to 9 p.m. at Arizona Western College, 2020 S. Ave. 8E, Yuma, Ariz., in the College Community Center. We invite the public to come speak about their concerns and to hear a short presentation on the FY 2009 budget. The FY 2009 budget was passed just after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning and signed by Governor Brewer later that morning.
